Rockwall-area adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma or major life transitions now have a new outpatient option that pairs clinical therapy with spiritual support.
Texas Health Behavioral Health Center Rockwall recently launched a faith-based intensive outpatient program at its facility at 890 Rockwall Parkway, Suite 115. The program uses cognitive behavioral therapy in a group setting, led by licensed therapists trained in faith-informed care, according to the Rockwall Times.
The program is open to all faiths.
Ken Jones, Psy.D., LCSW-S, behavioral health clinical officer at Texas Health, said the program addresses a gap many patients experience between their faith life and their mental health treatment.
"Faith and mental health have often been treated as separate conversations," Jones said in a statement released Monday, Aug. 24. "This approach enables us to bring them together in a clinically appropriate way."
The Rockwall center is the second location to offer the faith-based track, which first launched at Texas Health Behavioral Health Center Alliance in north Fort Worth earlier in 2026. Texas Health said the program has seen growing participation since its initial rollout.
During sessions, patients can discuss the role of faith in recovery, spiritual questions tied to trauma or hardship, and belief-related thoughts that may be influenced by depression or anxiety. Therapists help participants identify and challenge harmful thought patterns, both psychological and spiritual.
While grounded in a Christian worldview, the program welcomes adults of any faith background. Jones said the goal is to create a welcoming space where patients from different backgrounds can engage in meaningful conversations, drawing from their own beliefs while receiving quality care.
The faith-based track joins several other programs already offered at the Rockwall center, including an adult intensive outpatient program for substance use disorder, an adult partial hospitalization program for mental health and an adolescent intensive outpatient program.
Residents interested in the program can schedule a free behavioral health assessment online at texashealth.org or by calling 682-236-6023. A care team determines the appropriate level of care and matches patients with available programs, including the faith-based option.
