Rockwall-area women and girls stand to benefit when Soroptimist International of Rockwall deals the cards at its seventh annual Black & White Casino Night on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Boyd Farm in Lavon.

The fundraiser runs from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and raises money for two of the club's signature local programs: the Pink Bag Project, which supports women undergoing chemotherapy, and STARS (Soroptimist Toasting Area Retired Seniors), a program serving area seniors.

"All proceeds from Casino Night will directly benefit the work of Soroptimist International of Rockwall," event chair Danna Taylor told the Rockwall County Herald-Banner in a July 9 article. "Some of the programs your generosity helps support are our local Pink Bag Project, as well as our signature STARS program."

Guests will start the evening with a complimentary glass of prosecco before sitting down to a buffet dinner catered by Eddie Deen Catering, according to The Rockwall Times. Live music sets the tone for a night of Texas Hold'em, blackjack, craps and roulette. Each ticket includes casino chips and one prize ticket for a chance at one of 20 themed prize baskets valued at $75 or more. Chips earned at the tables can be exchanged for additional prize tickets.

Silent and live auctions featuring donated items from local businesses round out the evening.

This year's dress code: black-and-white attire with a touch of "Texas Glam."

Tickets are limited. As of July 29, the event's ticketing page showed 246 guest spots remaining. Business sponsorships start at $6,500 for the top-tier Marquee level. Tickets and sponsorships are available through the organization's ticketing page, or residents can email [email protected] for more information.
