Rockwall’s Lady Jackets swept North Forney on Oct. 20 to secure the District 10-6A volleyball championship, then finished district play with another sweep at Forney three days later.
The victories capped a 13-1 district campaign. Rockwall won five straight matches before falling 3-2 at Aledo in a nondistrict match Monday, Oct. 26, bringing its overall record to 32-9, according to MaxPreps.
Senior outside hitter Haylee Powell helped close the opening set against North Forney. After senior libero Presley St. Clair kept a rally alive with a dig, Powell delivered the set-winning kill, the Rockwall County Herald-Banner reported.
Rockwall enters the postseason with several contributors across its lineup. In statistics last updated Oct. 23, senior Zailey High led the team with 379 kills, averaging 3.8 per set. Senior Ryan Anderson followed with 349 kills and a 3.5-per-set average, according to MaxPreps’ team statistics.
Freshman Aniston Barnett led Rockwall with a .352 hitting percentage and 57 blocks. St. Clair recorded 392 digs and 557 receptions, while junior setters Harper Barnett and Aisley Bradford combined for 1,149 assists.
The Herald-Banner identified Richardson Lake Highlands as Rockwall’s opening playoff opponent and reported an Oct. 27 match date. That date conflicts with the UIL’s published calendar, which schedules Class 6A bi-district matches for Oct. 29–31.
Rockwall’s first-round opponent, match time and location await confirmation.
