Rockwall takes its ground game to Dallas Jesuit on Friday, Sept. 4, with both teams hunting their first win after lopsided Week 1 losses.

The Yellowjackets (0-1) fell 56-37 to Prosper on Aug. 28. Dallas Jesuit (0-1) lost 52-24 to Sachse the same night. The 7 p.m. kickoff gives Rockwall a shot at its first win against a Jesuit team that gave up 52 points and turned the ball over five times in its opener.

Running back Kaydon Castro gave Rockwall its brightest offensive stretch against Prosper. He carried 24 times for 177 yards and two touchdowns, breaking a 44-yard run in the first quarter and punching in a 1-yard score in the third. Quarterback Collins Jones completed 11 of 24 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns, adding a rushing score of his own. Wide receiver Ryan Wiley hauled in four catches for 73 yards and both receiving touchdowns, including a 39-yard strike that pulled the Jackets within four points.

Alijha Deloache added 78 rushing yards on 17 carries. Cannon Johnson, Brayden Puffer and Logan Shouse combined for five catches and 105 yards, according to the Rockwall County Herald-Banner's recap.

The offense produced 37 points but could not keep pace with Prosper. The Eagles built a 35-16 second-quarter lead, and a Rockwall interception in the end zone in the third quarter swung momentum back to Prosper for good.

Jesuit presents a different challenge. Junior quarterback JP Livingstone threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns against Sachse in his first game running the Rangers' offense. Senior receiver Joseph Konings caught seven passes for 122 yards and a score. Jesuit returns experience in the secondary with Jack Bourret, Andres Vann, Mack Murphy and JD Moore, according to the Herald-Banner's Jesuit preview.

Livingstone threw five interceptions against Sachse, though, including a 67-yard return for a touchdown by Jason Aniede. Sachse pulled away with a 35-7 run to close the first half behind four touchdown passes from Christian McCaffrey.

Head coach Trey Brooks opened fall camp on Aug. 10 with optimism. "There's nothing better than getting back here and back out on the field with these guys," Brooks told the Herald-Banner at the start of preseason practice.

Rockwall went 4-6 overall and 2-4 in District 10-6A in 2025, missing the playoffs. The Yellowjackets entered 2026 ranked No. 20 in the SportsDayHS DFW preseason poll and dropped to No. 271 nationally in the High School Football America 300 after the Week 1 loss. Jesuit went 6-6 with a playoff appearance last season.

Friday's game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Dallas Jesuit. Rockwall's next game after that is a home matchup against Melissa on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m.
