Rockwall High senior Zailey High became the Lady Yellowjackets' all-time career kills leader on Sept. 22, surpassing 1,000 kills during a three-set sweep of Tyler Legacy.
High reached the milestone in a 25-16, 25-15, 25-18 road victory at Tyler Legacy Varsity Gymnasium, as first reported by the Rockwall County Herald-Banner. The Herald-Banner reported she finished the match with 13 kills, four aces, a block, five digs, an assist and nine serve receptions. The Tyler Morning Telegraph credited High with 15 kills in its own account of the match.
The senior outside hitter has built her record across three varsity seasons. High joined the varsity roster as a sophomore in 2024 and posted 261 kills in her first year as a starter. Her junior campaign in 2025 was a breakout: 468 kills, 26 blocks, 168 digs and 178 serve receptions.
Her 2026 numbers show growth beyond the kill column. Through late September, High had 297 kills, a career-high 60 service aces, a career-high 31 blocks, 228 digs and 356 serve receptions. Those three seasons add up to 1,026 career kills and counting.
High leads Rockwall in kills per set at 3.6, according to MaxPreps. She is committed to Cal Poly for beach volleyball and is the younger sister of Zayden High, who played basketball at North Carolina and now plays at South Florida.
The talent runs deep on this roster. Ryan Anderson, an LSU beach volleyball commit, led the team with 16 kills against Tyler Legacy. Harper Barnett, committed to Texas A&M Corpus Christi, led Rockwall in assists in the Sept. 22 match.
The Lady Yellowjackets have kept rolling since the milestone. Rockwall defeated Forney 25-7, 25-20, 25-11 on Tuesday, Sept. 29, extending its winning streak to 10 matches. The team stands at 26-7 overall and 7-0 in District 10-6A, good for first place. Head coach Travis Ferguson's squad has won all 21 sets in district play, never dropping one.
Rockwall hosts Royse City on Friday, Oct. 2, at 5:30 p.m., with six district matches remaining after that.
