The Rockwall County Republican Women named Commissioner Dana Macalik their 2026 Woman of Influence at the group's 50th anniversary luncheon Saturday, Aug. 29, at The Linden in Rockwall.

Macalik, a fifth-generation Rockwall County native and Precinct 2 county commissioner, has served in roles spanning Chamber of Commerce CEO, Rockwall City Council member and Mayor Pro Tem. Blue Ribbon News first reported on the honor and Macalik's career in detail.

RCRW President Alma McClintock introduced Macalik at the event. Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham delivered the keynote address, discussing the Texas General Land Office's work on public education, coastal resiliency and the Alamo.

The program also remembered the late Billie J. Tuttle, who served as the RCRW's first president. The organization was founded in 1976 by Jim and Gerry Glasgow.

On her official Facebook page the day after the luncheon, Macalik called it a highlight.
