The Pink Project is collecting new pink pajamas through October for women recovering from breast cancer surgery.

The drive, first reported by Blue Ribbon News, gives Rockwall and Heath residents a hands-on way to help during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Donated pajamas go directly to patients after surgery as a practical source of comfort and a signal that their community is behind them.

The focus is on a specific need. Women recovering from breast cancer surgery often have limited arm mobility, and pulling a shirt over the head can be painful or impossible. Front-button pajama tops let patients dress without assistance, helping them maintain independence during recovery.

All donations must be new, pink and made from thin, soft, breathable fabric such as cotton or cotton-modal. Those materials are gentler on sensitive post-surgical skin. Flannel, silk and satin are not accepted.

Sara Gividen, media relations specialist for the Heath Texas Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, announced the drive on behalf of The Pink Project. The organization said even a single donated pair can make a difference during a difficult stretch of a patient's recovery.

The drive is listed on JustServe.org, a free volunteer platform that connects individuals, families and groups with local service projects based on location and availability. Donors can also purchase qualifying pajamas through The Pink Project's Amazon Wishlist, linked on the JustServe project page.

Individuals, families, church groups and other organizations can participate. No physical drop-off location in Rockwall or Heath has been announced. The drive runs through October, though no specific closing date has been published.
