Rockwall ISD career and technical students brought home three national championships and a historic first-ever national qualifier across four competitions in June and July.

The results spanned health care, education, fashion design and culinary arts, with students from both Rockwall High School and Rockwall-Heath High School earning top finishes at conferences in four states.

EMT students Lillie Bonner and Kaiden Farish placed in the top 20 at the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) national conference in Indianapolis in June, according to the Rockwall Herald-Banner.

Three fashion design students made district history by becoming the first Rockwall ISD competitors to qualify for the Technology Student Association (TSA) national competition. Perla Ramos, Jadyn Villalva and Janine Pierpoint earned their spot after placing second in fashion design and technology at the TSA state competition in April, according to a Rockwall ISD announcement. They competed June 22–26 in National Harbor, Maryland.

"These three dedicated and creative young ladies rose to the challenge in what proved to be an extremely competitive and demanding event," fashion design teacher and TSA advisor Renee Aube said in the district's June 11 announcement previewing the competition.

The district's Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) chapter sent 11 students to the Educators Rising national conference in Portland, Oregon, in June. All 11 placed seventh or higher. Three won national championships, according to a district post. Daphne McEvoy and Hope Waterman took first in JV Lesson Plan and Delivery–Professional Development. Avery Babb won first in Exploring Support Service Careers. Wyatt Stovall won first in Exploring Non-Core Teaching Careers. Teacher leaders Robin Peterson, Kelley Cavin and Nip McIlwain coached the team.

Six fashion design students and one culinary arts student also competed at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) national competition in Washington, D.C., in July. Kennedy Jacoby earned second place in baking and pastry. Sophia Brewster and Sophia Suther each earned second place in fashion construction. Brewster, a Rockwall High School senior, became the only FCCLA student to win the fashion construction title three consecutive years, according to a district post.

Breanna Weaver, Kenedy Card, Raleigh McMillan and Analeigh Porter rounded out the FCCLA fashion design squad. All six scored 92 or above, earning Gold medals of distinction against more than 60 competitors nationally.
