Students at Rockwall High School and Rockwall-Heath High School can apply to cover Friday night football games as on-air sideline reporters for the Rockwall ISD Sports Network during the 2026 season.
The district's sports marketing arm posted the call on Monday, July 27, seeking students interested in sports broadcasting who want on-field experience. Rockwall ISD Sports Marketing said the role could also lead to covering other sports beyond football.
No deadline has been set.
The opportunity arrives as RISD Sports Marketing expands its footprint. The program announced a full relaunch in May with updated branding and new sponsorship structures, and the district's communications and athletics departments earned 16 state awards at the 2026 Texas School Public Relations Association competition for work in print and electronic media.
Students who want to apply should send a resume to Chris Curtis at [email protected]. The district has not specified how many positions are available, what training reporters will receive, or whether the role is open to all grade levels.
