Rockwall ISD will hold what the district calls its third annual Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium parking lot.

Marine Corps veteran Jeff Skinner will serve as this year's guest speaker, according to the district's announcement. The ceremony will also feature a presentation by the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy Marine Corps JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps) and student choir performances.

Skinner served as a communications field radio operator in the Marine Corps from 1999 to 2003, deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He told Voyage Dallas in a February 2022 profile that he "… graduated Mesquite High School in 1999, joined the Marine Corps in 1999, and got out in 2003." He now coordinates the Rockwall Toys for Tots campaign and volunteers with the Lake Ray Hubbard Young Marines program, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The stadium is at 1215 T.L. Townsend Drive in Rockwall. Seating is limited, and the district encourages attendees to bring an umbrella for shade.
