Rockwall County has a new deputy election administrator heading into the November 2026 midterm cycle.

She's a homegrown hire.

Sarah DiGirolamo was sworn in during July 2026 as the county's Deputy Election Administrator, according to a Rockwall County announcement posted Monday, July 27. Judge Brett Hall of the 382nd District Court in Rockwall County administered the oath.

DiGirolamo's path to the role started six years ago. She joined the Elections Office in 2020 as a temporary poll worker, became an elections clerk, and by 2022 held a full-time staff position, according to a Blue Ribbon News report based on the county's press release. She earned her Texas Registered Election Official certification in January 2025 and graduated from the Leadership Rockwall Class of 2024.

She is pursuing a degree in Geographic Information Systems at Texas A&M University, a field that overlaps with precinct mapping and voter-district work.

The appointment puts DiGirolamo in a key administrative role for a county with approximately 91,000 registered voters as of May 18, according to the Elections Office website. The office oversees polling locations, early voting, and ballot processing for voters across Rockwall County.

Jim Barto, Rockwall County's public information officer, issued the press release announcing the appointment. No statement from DiGirolamo was included. The Rockwall Herald contacted the Elections Office at (972) 204-6200 for comment on DiGirolamo's specific responsibilities; no response was received before publication.
