The Republican Women’s Scholarship Fund brought bowlers, local businesses and community supporters together at Shenaniganz Entertainment Center for its inaugural Claudette Hatfield Memorial Bowling Tournament.
The event, advertised for Sept. 24 in the venue’s Z Lounge, raised money through team registrations, sponsorships and donations, according to an Oct. 6 recap published by Blue Ribbon News. Gift baskets featured items donated by local businesses, organizations and individuals.
Established in 2023, the fund provides educational and financial assistance to support the next generation of Republican women in Rockwall County. Organizers created the tournament to honor Hatfield’s memory while raising money for scholarships.
“What better way to honor someone who made an impact than to continue making an impact in her name?” organizers said in the recap.
Supporters included Rockwall County Commissioner Bobby Gallana, County Clerk Jennifer Fogg, District Clerk Lea Carlson and Fate City Council member Stephanie Adams.
Other contributors included Angel Butler of Atrium Legal Group, Stacy Massar of Massar Realty Group, Kevin Hadawi of Wells Fargo, Michael Caffey of Rockwall Professional Fire Fighters, Dan and Deanna Tucker, and Hatfield and Company Inc.
The recap did not disclose how much the tournament raised.
The fund’s next major fundraiser is its annual golf tournament, scheduled for Thursday, April 8, 2027, at Buffalo Creek Golf Course. Information about the organization and its events is available at rwscholarshipfund.com.
