Heath residents can now reserve pickleball courts, sports fields, pavilions and other city facilities online through a new system called ACTIVEnet.
The city's Parks & Recreation Department announced the launch on Tuesday, Sept. 15, saying the platform covers five facility types: pickleball courts, sports fields, park pavilions, the amphitheater and the City Hall community room. The system replaces paper-based reservations and payments.
Residents can access the booking portal at heathtx.com/parks-trails.
The launch follows a unanimous City Council vote on May 12 that approved updated reservation policies, procedures and fees for park amenities, according to council minutes. The council also approved Ordinance No. 260512A amending the fiscal year 2026 fee schedule. The new fee structure is projected to generate about $73,850 a year to offset maintenance costs and fund long-term capital improvements.
Assistant City Manager Chelsey Gordon presented the case for the changes at that May 12 meeting. She told the council that updated rental rates and reservation procedures were needed as Heath continues to grow, and that city staff had reviewed rate structures and administrative practices to build the new framework.
Specific pricing is already in place for the city's eight pickleball courts. At its April 20 meeting, the Heath Park Board set a resident annual permit at $50 per year for one hour of daily reservation on a first-come, first-served basis.
Event reservations run $250 for up to four hours on four courts, or $500 for up to four hours on all eight courts. Event bookings are limited to residents.
Heath's July 21 HMBC/HEDC meeting minutes listed the new fees and reservation processes among the Park Board's top achievements over the prior 12 months. Residents who want to book a facility can visit heathtx.com/parks-trails to get started.
