Heath residents looking for space to host a party, meeting or holiday gathering can rent the community room at City Hall, 200 Laurence Drive.

The city highlighted the venue in an Oct. 17 post on X. The room includes kitchen facilities and is available after regular weekday business hours and throughout the weekend.

Eligible renters include Heath residents, resident organizations and businesses, government agencies and nonprofits affiliated with the city. The applicant and primary renter must be at least 21, according to the city’s rental policy.

Booking and costs

Reservation requests generally must reach the city between seven business days and six months before an event. City approval, a signed agreement and payment of the required fees and deposit are necessary to secure a booking.

The fee schedule linked on the city’s website lists resident rates of $50 per hour for the small room and $100 per hour for the entire room. It adds $50 per hour for rentals after 5 p.m. or on weekends and requires a $200 refundable deposit.

That document is labeled fiscal year 2025–26. Renters should confirm current charges with the city before booking.

Event requirements

The room can accommodate celebrations, workshops, community meetings and religious or fraternal gatherings. Commercial activities require city approval.

Anyone planning to serve alcohol must obtain written permission in advance. The city may also require liability insurance or security personnel.

Renters must allow time for setup and cleanup within their reservation and leave the space in its original arrangement. Decorations cannot damage surfaces; glitter, confetti and fog machines are prohibited. Deposits may be reduced for damage, excessive cleaning, overtime or other policy violations.

The Heath Community Center Board donated the City Hall property in 1982 and has supported keeping a community room available to residents, according to the city’s website.
